NBC News: Breaking & US News App Reviews

Very disappointed. It was the only app I was running and the streaming video crashed several times. I finally gave up and watched the desired news event on an ABC streaming video in a browser.

I prefer NBC news over the others, but this app makes it impossible to watch. The app usually gets stuck on the first ad and wont run. Sometimes it starts ok but random ads pop up and run simultaneously with the news (so you can hear both). Other times its audio only. Its a terrible user experience. NBC is a media company, for Christs sake... they should be able to figure this out!

This just started happening: Each time I want to share to Twitter the app crashes and defaults back to the article. I cannot type a message and share any of your articles. I can share NPR but not NBC which is sad because we should be able to share your articles. Does the App developer care? Do they ever read the reviews or fix bugs they create? Does NBC care that we cant share their work on Twitter? As of January 12 this problem still exists and I cannot share on Twitter anymore. Nobody cares at NBC or the App Developer.

Works great! Not sure why all the negative comments. Clean, easy to read and breaking news alerts.

Notifications dont open the referenced news stories

A decent app years ago has turned into an ad-based video portal. Seems like half of the stories are either videos or nonsense Today links to who-did-what-with-who. A NEWS app should be about interesting news stories based on your interests - not a banner ad. Looking for alternatives now. You really should look at your reviews and take some action on them.

Way too many video stories with ads and very slow to update. Not going to use much anymore.

If I could rate this app less than 1 star I would. Constantly news pops up on my screen from the app. I swipe to read the article and it brings me to a page that says undefined. The front page of the app still has news from 2 months ago and even those don’t open to an article. Maybe 1 in 50 articles actually come up. It’s NBC news. A HUGE company. I don’t see why they can’t get someone to fix the problems. Are they not embarrassed? It’s ridiculous! You really shouldn’t even offer an app that works this bad! Please update and fix this app!

Cant expect a decent news app from a garbage network with the worst ratings.

Theres too many ads on this app. I cant even watch the videos because all because the long stupid commercials please fix this.

What is the point of a push notification of breaking news alert if you cant read the story. Silly silly app. Buh bye.

I love this app but updating the news is very slow and they should fix the problem with the up-to-date news.

Crashes all the time and is extremely glitchy

Yea, blank to white and reload. Not going to deal with it any more; I just deleted it and am shopping for a new news app. Cmon NBC! This is third rate effort here.

I CANNOT get this app to play the news, on wifi or not, all I want to do is watch the nightly news on my work break, and I just end up fighting with it for 30mins while it plays the ads over and over without actually playing the content. I deleted it, NBC, when you get this app functional I will re download.

For over a year its been nearly impossible to tweet articles from this app as the tweet sheet UI will crash as Im typing anything (such as hashtags) into the text box. Ive sent the developers two separate bug reports, months apart, with no response and apparently no work done on the issue. I wouldve been willing to hook my iPhone up to my Mac and send them the debugging console outputs, run diagnostics through instruments in XCode, or whatever else they needed, but I never heard a peep about the bugs... Between that and the horrible UI design, Im finally deleting this app. Guess Ill be using the nbcnews mobile site, with ad block installed I might add, from now on...

What a terrible app. Cant even deliver the same capabilities as their website. Not user friendly, very slow, and just awful overall.

None of the articles that are related to the Today Show open, many articles are just videos, and they are not updated very frequently.

New version Wont download and load or even delete. Full of buts
